Yellow Box vote delayed till next week

An e-mail from organizers:

Tonight was a shameful display of the kind of delay tactic that Councilor Haller's been using for years. She used her privilege to table the discussion on Yellow Box until next Tuesday, saying there wasn't enough information. There were a few of us there, but this means next Tuesday, December 18, we need to PACK THE HOUSE! If you want this to happen, you must come next week. There are six Councilors supporting the issue - enough to pass it, but 4 councilors can vote to table it. We need to make sure they see enough support to make sure that doesn't happen.

Also, next week is the last meeting of the year, at which point all committees change and Haller's got her eye on the Chair seat on the Health Committee which means for safe needle disposal, it's next Tuesday or never!

So, we need you to:

1. Come next Tuesday, December 18 at 7PM to the City Council Meeting. Wear Yellow or bring a sign showing you're a supporter.
2. Write a letter to the editor - it can be really short saying that you support this issue. Email your letter, with your name and address to letters@telegram.com with subject "Letter to the Editor." Max 250 words.
3. Call/email the City Councilors and mayor and tell them to vote for Operation Yellow Box. Contact info below.
