Burger King Protest

Come protest Burger King's refusal to provide fair working conditions for the farmworkers that pick its tomatoes. We will be at the Burger King at 1160 Main St. They are paid 45 cents for a 32-pound bucket of tomatoes. During a typical day each migrant picks, carries and unloads two tons of tomatoes. For that two tons the worker can expect about $50, and annual wages of $10,000-$14,000. The Food Justice Campaign, a coalition of Worcester groups, will join with protesters across the country as part of a national day of action in solidarity with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. The Worcester Food Justice Campaign is working empower the community to create a local food system that is provides ethical, sustainable, affordable, and nutritious food for all residents.
