It's two weeks until the City Planning Board will vote on the Wal-Mart project. I hope they allow several more months of public discussion; this has been in the works for awhile, but most of the city has been in the dark until a few weeks ago.

Mike,

It's pretty awesome how quickly you were able to tape this, edit it, and get it on-line so quickly. And, with all free software!

I give all credit to the hardware builders and software authors. I wish that being able to make videos so fast had more real-world impact.

I'm very interested in your activities and looking forward to your next protest event asking Islamic countries like Syria, Iran and Turkey and organizations like Hezbollah and Al Quaeda to stop abusing women, "infidels" and others. These kind of things - http://news.yahoo.com/photo/070307/481/mla10203070714ccc , http://www.amilimani.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=55&Itemid=2 - must stop and I eagerly look forward to joining with you to help.
Thank you for caring.

Ed, I hope you'll organize something around this and post the event info on Worcester Activist. Simply holding a demonstration doesn't seem like a good way to influence the activities of foreign governments, though.

The only repressive regime I've tried to influence in recent years is Sudan, and it has taken quite a bit of creativity and effort to find things that seemed like they'd do something more than assuage my conscience. There's so much distance between me and the Sudanese govt, much more than between me and my own govt.
