First Baptist Church of Worcester

First Baptist Church of Worcester is nearly 200 years old. The church considers service a part of its mission, particularly service to those who Jesus identified as most in need.

The congregation votes as a whole on major issues, and various boards and committees make decisions about participation in most activities. The Governing Board, chaired by an elected Moderator, meets once a month. The committees most involved in local outreach are the Social Action Committee and the Benevolence Committee.

In 2008, the church has participated in local initiatives concerning homelessness and hunger in the Worcester area, and in activities focused on the Elm Park neighborhood.
