Completely Open
There are hotspots that have no protection on them whatsoever

There are hotspots that require you to go to your web browser before doing anything and fill out a form. Beware: It is very easy for a malicious person to spoof one of these pages, so never give sensitive information or passwords to a free WiFi hotspot.
